BukSU unveils markers for key streets in main campus

MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) Bukidnon State University named the main streets of its main campus in Malaybalay City in honor of its earlier administrators from the time it was set up as the Bukidnon Provincial High School in 1924.

Dr. Oscar B. Cabańelez, BukSU President, led the ribbon cutting and unveiling ceremonies of two of the major thoroughfares in the BukSU Main Campus in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon; the Supt. P.A. Ramos Sr. Street and Supt. J.F. Barroso Sr. Street on April 8, 2021.

On May 17, 2021 M. Odulio de Guzman Street was also revealed to the BukSU community on May 17, 2021 in honor of Ms. Maria Tecson Odulio de Guzman, who became the First Filipino Woman Principal of of a Normal School and a Public High School in the Philippines. She served in Bukidnon Normal School from 1932 to 1935.

Dr. Oscar B. Cabanelez leads the ribbon cutting and unveiling of the Street marker of the Supt. J.F. Barroso Sr. Street on April 8, 2021. He was joined by former City Councilor Conrad M. Barroso and BukSU Board Alumni Regent Dr. Victor M. Barroso. Supt. Jesus F. Barroso Sr. (featured in portrait) served as supervisor of the pre-war Bukidnon Normal School in 1933.
