Our History

Established in 2015, the Editorial board together with the Supreme Student Council solicited some possible names for the new yearbook publication from 2014-2015 graduating students. The term Matigda appealed to the senses of the students. Matigda, in the preeminent and exquisite language Binukid, means Achiever. An excellent performance, a capability of realizing dreams, courage to face new possibilities, these are metonyms of Matigda, the official yearbook publication of Bukidnon State University.

Our Logo

  • Color – The Logo features the different indigenous colors of Bukidnon, characterizing the diversity of its people.
  • Graduate Group – It shows the interdependence of the graduating class in attaining academic success.
  • Graduates that raise Diploma – It represents every graduate who is proud of his Alma Mater and victorious of his academic pursuit.
  • Toga Cap – It is a symbol of success, like a victor’s crowning glory.
  • The Scroll – It represents the diplomas, a concrete proof of an earned degree.
  • Year – 2015 is its founding year.
  • The Achiever – It is the English term for Matigda.

List of Services

Matigda Yearbook Publication aims to produce a high-quality yearbook through a well strategic and coordinated Editorial Board. The Editorial Board works together with its Photographer and Publishing House from Davao City to guarantee the quality of the Yearbook.

Matigda Yearbook Publication provides an on-site pictorial service for the graduating students that will be utilized for the yearbook. With the ongoing threat of COVID 19, the on-site pictorial service for the students followed a strict health measures and protocols. To ensure the safety of the students and staff, Matigda coordinated with Malaybalay City COVID 19 Task Force and the BukSU Health and Safety Unit.

As a Student Publication, Matigda is also tasked to document annual and major events in the university. Part of the duties and responsibilities of Matigda Editorial Board is to keep up and stay updated with the University’s latest Announcements and Events to help achieve a well-informed BukSU Community and for faster Information Dissemination.

Aside from producing a quality yearbook, Matigda also aims to produce well-equipped individuals. The Matigda Editorial Board is expected to develop public relations, digital technology, photography, writing and design techniques and leadership skills through trainings and seminar-workshops.
