BukSU Medina Campus promotes reproductive health, gender inclusivity at annual GAD activity

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Medina Campus, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, convened approximately 250 students, faculty, and staff on September 23, 2026, for a university-wide GAD Awareness Activity aimed at advancing health literacy and gender equality across the institution.

Anchored on the theme “Empowering Health. Enabling Choices. Equal Future,” the initiative focused on embedding gender-responsive practices, dignity, respect, and social inclusion into the university community while reinforcing informed personal decision-making.

The health campaign addressed four thematic areas of public health and institutional wellness: principles of maternal health and family planning options, strategies for early teenage pregnancy prevention and health education, practical guidelines on breast health and routine self-examination techniques, and transmission dynamics, preventive measures, and destigmatization surrounding HIV/AIDS.

Leda O. Tomanpos, subject specialists, delivered evidence-based presentations emphasizing the importance of accessing verified medical information, exercising informed personal decision-making, and integrating gender-responsive practices across the academic community.
