Bukidnon State University reviewed the implementation of its 2026 Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget through a university-wide assessment that supports the government’s gender mainstreaming policy for public institutions.
The review took place during the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Assembly, GAD Budget Forum, and Midyear Assessment on July 30, which gathered representatives from the university’s colleges, campuses, administrative offices, and support units.
Organized by the University Gender Research and Resource Center, the activity aligned with Republic Act No. 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women, Philippine Commission on Women policies, and the Joint Circular on the preparation of the GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and GAD Accomplishment Report. These policies require government agencies to institutionalize gender mainstreaming through planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
During the midyear assessment, colleges, campuses, and offices reported on the implementation status of their GAD programs, accomplishments, challenges, and proposed interventions. Participants also discussed implementation gaps and recommendations for the University’s remaining GAD commitments for 2026.
The activity also updated GFPS members on current GAD policies, directives, and university initiatives. Discussions covered GAD planning, budgeting, and fund utilization. Participants also prepared action plans for GAD programs scheduled during the remainder of the year.
