Smart Dialogue, Round Table Sessions held for BukSU satellite Campuses

Bukidnon State University (BukSU) conducted two simultaneous meetings with its satellite campuses on August 4, 2025, as part of its efforts to maintain open communication and institutional development.

One session, the Smart BukSU Dialogue with regular faculty, was held at the Mini Theater, while a separate round table discussion with campus heads under the BukSU Center for Advocacy, Resilience and Well-being Services (CARES) took place at the Audio-Visual Center.

University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol led the sessions alongside Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Hazel Jean M. Abejuela, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dante S. Victoria, Jr., Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovations Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso, and Vice President for Culture, Arts, Sports and Student Services Dr. Lincoln V. Tan. They were joined by administrators from academic and administrative units.

“As part of our effort to ensure that BukSU’s transition toward smarter, more future-ready systems and practices is grounded in the real-world experiences of those who deliver quality education on the ground, this Smart Dialogue is vital in understanding how we can better serve our campuses and communities,” President Mirasol emphasized.

Designed as safe spaces for constructive dialogue, the Smart BukSU sessions reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting its 16 satellite campuses, served by 136 regular faculty members, in delivering student-centered and future-ready education.

Faculty participants shared insights on resources and professional development. At the same time, campus heads, in a round table with BukSU CARES Director Dr. Xyle Fe A. Verbal, exchanged experiences and innovations shaped by their respective contexts.

The BukSU leadership assured faculty and heads that the gathered inputs will inform policy enhancements and service improvements as part of the institution’s push toward smarter governance and strengthened campus operations.

As the university moves forward with its Smart BukSU agenda, these conversations served as vital feedback loops reinforcing that meaningful progress begins with listening, learning, and leading together. (Joanne Vivien B. Necosia, Director, Presidential Management Staff)
