Over 300 scholars and researchers from across Asia and Europe will gather at Bukidnon State University (BukSU) in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, for the Women’s and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines (WSAP) Annual International Conference 2023 on November 22–24.
The WSAP International Conference acknowledges the valuable contributions made by feminists, advocates, and scholars of women’s and gender studies toward developing and advancing gender equality, inclusivity, and sustainability at all levels of society.
“This conference is a unique opportunity to delve into the latest research, share insights, and forge connections that will shape the future of women’s and gender studies,” said Dr. Marichu Montecillo, BukSU’s Gender and Development Resource Center Director.
With the theme “Feminist Strategies for Gender Equitable, Inclusive, and Sustainable Global Futures: Challenges, Responses, and Responsibilities,” this year’s conference includes sessions centered on the environment, health, well-being, education, conflict management, and peacekeeping.
WSAP is a professional association of individuals and institutions promoting women’s and gender studies. It aims to introduce and strengthen women’s and gender studies in Philippine education, generate knowledge and expertise on the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment, conduct training and develop curriculum and instructional resources, and create a network of Philippine scholars, both locally and globally.
