BukSU Nursing students showcase research competencies in addressing national challenges

MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University Nursing students showcased their research competencies in addressing national challenges and recovery during the students’ research colloquium on September 5, 2023.

The said event focused on the theme “Health Research: Responding to Challenges toward National Recovery and Resiliency.”

The nursing students presented their research findings and have demonstrated their competence in research methodology, data analysis, and critical thinking skills research to address the challenges faced by the nation and advancing national recovery and resiliency.

Head of Educational Analytics Dr. Derren Gaylo, Botanical Gardens and Herbarium Director Dr. Lesley C. Lubos, and Dr. Neil M. Martin of Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology were the members of the panelists. After the students’ research presentations, the panelists gave their constructive feedback to encourage students to delve deeper into their research and consider potential avenues for further exploration. The discussions also addressed the practical implications of the research findings in real-world healthcare settings.

The 3rd BukSU Nursing Students Research Colloquium served as a platform for nursing students to showcase their research achievements and contribute to the broader field of health research.

The Nursing Department ensured that the said event fostered a culture of research inquiry, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice among the participants which will contribute to the development of future nurse researchers, advancement of nursing research, and will inspire future generations of nurse researchers to play an instrumental role in national recovery and resiliency efforts.

The insights shared by the esteemed panelists provided valuable guidance and inspiration to the nursing students. Their expertise and experience underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and evidence-based practice in achieving optimal health outcomes.

The 3rd BukSU Nursing Students Research Colloquium concluded with a renewed commitment by the participants and the academic community to continue promoting health research as a vital component of national recovery and resiliency efforts. The Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovations Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso, faculty members headed by the College Dean Dr. Ma. Algerica T. Cuenco were also present during the said event.
