MALAYBALAY CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry – Competitiveness Bureau (DTI-CB) awarded the Philippine Quality Award for Proficiency in Quality Management (Level II) to Bukidnon State University under the 25th PQA Assessment Cycle. It was formally announced through a received letter of the Office of the President from Director Lilian Salonga.
The Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management (Level II) means BukSU has achieved significant progress in building sound processes. This is the second out of four levels for an agencyโs quality journey with PQA.
BukSU has applied for PQA on March 2022 under the leadership of the former President Dr. Oscar B. Cabaรฑelez. In preparation, a one-day writeshop on the PQA requirements took place to address the seven categories as part of the criteria: 1) Leadership 2) Strategy 3) Customers 4) Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management 5) Workforce 6) Operations 7) Results.
The Philippine Quality Award (PQA) is the countryโs highest national recognition for exemplary organizational performance for the public and private sectors. It is an award for quality management system which hinges on improvement in improvement in the delivery of products and/or services, and provides way of satisfying and responding to customerโs needs and requirements.
Established through Executive Order No. 448, issued by President Fidel V. Ramos on October 3, 1997, the award is given to organizations in the private and public sectors which excel in quality and productivity.
This milestone achieved by BukSU is a manifestation of its continuous pursuit to attain performance excellence and provide quality service to its various stakeholders. This recognition was made possible through the support of the BukSU administration headed by University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol and the guidance of the BukSU Board of Regents headed by Comm.
