Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Medina Campus partnered with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of LGU Medina to conduct its 3rd Quarter Earthquake Drill and First Aid Training on September 16, 2026.
The joint initiative aimed to enhance campus disaster preparedness, evaluate emergency response capabilities, and equip students, faculty, and administrative staff with essential life-saving skills.
The simulation evaluated emergency response readiness through two operational phases involving campus personnel and students.
Participants executed standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” protocols, followed by an orderly evacuation along designated egress routes to pre-identified campus assembly areas.
MDRRMO personnel led practical instruction covering trauma triage, wound management, and basic life support (BLS) tactics for post-disaster scenarios.
Dr. Maria Leonie A. Mabanta, BukSU Medina Campus Head, emphasized that recurring multi-agency exercises with local response units remain important for refining emergency protocols, minimizing operational risk, and sustaining institutional disaster resilience.
