
Faculty members from Bukidnon State University (BukSU) participated in the 4th Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Conference 2026, organized by the San Pedro College – Internationalization and Linkages Unit as part of the institution’s Internationalization and Linkages Week 6.0 (TRANSCEND 2026) celebration on March 12–13, 2026.
Participants from higher education institutions around the globe designed COIL courses and developed prototype COIL course plans in accordance with guidelines for collaborative international learning modules.
Representing the university were faculty members who have implemented and will implement COIL courses.
Ms. Judith J. Cauilan from the Food Technology Department of the College of Technologies, and Ms. Mariz Rochelle C. Sedon from the College of Nursing will begin the implementation in 2026, while Ms. Astred Jill A. Catolpos, faculty member of Development Communication from the College of Arts and Sciences has implemented COIL courses in 2025.
During the event, strategies for global classrooms, multicultural collaboration, and virtual exchange in higher education were also introduced to the participants.
The event also featured collaboration and participation from institutions of the SUNY COIL Center, State University of New York (USA); Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Indiana, USA; Baylor University, Texas, USA; and, partner higher education institutions in the Philippines and ASEAN region involved in COIL projects and internationalization initiatives.
