BukSU Graduate Places 10th as University Posts High LET Passing Rates

“Becoming a topnotcher feels amazing and surreal at the same time. It’s not something that I was expecting, since I am aware of how difficult it is to achieve. Although I was not expecting it to happen, I was secretly hoping to become one of the topnotchers in our institution,” Keith Harvey Berial said.

Bukidnon State University recorded a 97.73% passing rate in the elementary level and a 75.43% passing rate in the secondary level among first-time takers in the September and November 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission.

At the elementary level, 43 out of 44 first-time takers from BukSU passed the exam. In the secondary level, 132 out of 175 first-time takers met the requirements for licensure.

PRC reported that 21,967 elementary teachers out of 43,035 examinees passed the examination, equivalent to a 51.04% passing rate. In the secondary level, 57,729 out of 79,493 examinees passed, or 72.62%.

Top 10 examinee from BukSU

A graduate of BukSU’s Bachelor of Elementary Education program, Keith Harvey Berial placed 10th in the elementary level with a rating of 92.20%.

According to Berial, the result was unexpected given the level of competition among examinees.

“Becoming a topnotcher feels amazing and surreal at the same time. It’s not something that I was expecting, since I am aware of how difficult it is to achieve. Although I was not expecting it to happen, I was secretly hoping to become one of the topnotchers in our institution,” he said.

Berial said his preparation for the licensure exam required several months of structured review and consistent practice.

“Preparing for the examination was a rigorous 4-month process. Attending review sessions, watching practice drills videos, and studying were part of my board exam preparations,” he said.

He also pointed to the role of the academic environment and peer support during his time at the university.

“Bukidnon State University has helped me in so many ways. The support from teachers, classmates, and friends from our institution has been my source of inspiration. They pushed me to become a person who is capable of achieving what I was able to accomplish today. It is truly an honor to be part of such an amazing institution,” he said.

The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers was conducted on September 21 and November 30, 2025, at 43 testing centers nationwide. (BukSU-Information Unit)
