Bukidnon State University (BukSU) has secured a top national honor, receiving the Alab Award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at the Capacity Development Accelerator Awards (CapDEV ACE Accelerator Awards) held on December 10, 2025, in Manila, Philippines, in recognition of its steadfast, three-year partnership in strengthening local governance across the country.
According to DILG, the Alab Award is given to entities that have endured high-impact partnerships.
“The Alab Award celebrates partners who have been with us for more than three years. Whose contributions have helped shape DILG’s societal outcomes. Your enduring dedication shows us that the most bountiful harvest comes from relationships that stand firm through time, storms, and even shifting landscapes. By giving you all, you deserve to be heralded as Bayani (hero),” award’s night Keynote Speaker Undersecretary for Local Government Marlo L. Iringan, CESO III, expressed.
BukSU stood out as one of only 14 awardees selected from various national agencies, state universities, and private organizations across the country, highlighting its exceptional performance and commitment to capacity development.
The award was received by Ms. Rosanna S. Generato, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Administrative Division, and Dr. Carina Joane V. Barroso, Vice President for Research, Extension and Innovations (VPREI).
“BukSU is honored to be acknowledged for its outstanding performance in shaping and strengthening the capacity of local governments across the country. Padayon (Keep going), BukSU!” OVPREI shared online. (BukSU-Information Unit)
