
Bukidnon State University, through the College of Technologies – Information Technology Department, concluded the Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025 with the theme “Cyber Guardians: Empowering Today’s Defenders, Securing Tomorrow’s Digital Nation.” The month-long celebration highlighted the value of vigilance, accountability, and shared responsibility in maintaining a secure digital environment.
Spearheaded by the IT Department and the Technical Working Group composed of the accredited instructors from Cisco Networking Academy, activities were conducted for cyber literacy and awareness.
One of the activities, Cybersecurity Awareness Podcast Series, featuring Mr. Rodel Sales, BukSU’s System Administrator, and Mr. Dante S. Victoria Jr., Vice President for Administration and Finance, discussed “Think Before You Click,” a session that valued the importance of cautious online behavior.
Another episode featured Dr. Marilou A. Espina, Dean of the College of Technologies, and Ms. Maria Julisa Antonette Mahawan, Cybersecurity Planning Assistant of DICT–Region X, who shared insights on mobile security and protecting personal data.

The Cybersecurity Awareness Video Contest, participated in by third-year BSIT students, showcased short films promoting safe and ethical digital practices.
