
The 10th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Malaybalay City formally commended Bukidnon State University (BukSU) for its recent international achievements during its 14th Regular Session on September 30, 2025.
Through Resolution No. 2025-0098 and Resolution No. 2025-0099, sponsored by Hon. Zoltan Dindo D. Dinlayan, the City Council congratulated BukSU for its recognition in two prestigious global rankings.
Resolution No. 2025-0098 commends BukSU for being recognized as one of the Top 400 Most Innovative Universities in the World, placing 161st out of 1,253 institutions worldwide in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025.
Meanwhile, Resolution No. 2025-0099 lauds BukSU’s inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, where the University ranked within the 901–1000 band out of 2,526 participating institutions worldwide and earned a distinction as one of the Top 4 among 113 Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
University President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol personally received the resolutions on behalf of BukSU. She was joined by Ms. Joanne Vivien B. Necosia, Director for Presidential Management Staff. In her message before the City Council, Dr. Mirasol expressed gratitude:
“On behalf of Bukidnon State University, I sincerely thank the Honorable members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and our City Government partners for this commendation. This recognition affirms our strong partnership with the city and inspires BukSU to continue its commitment to education, research, and community engagement. Daghang salamat.”
Hon. Dinlayan, as sponsor of the resolutions, emphasized the significance of BukSU’s global recognition to the pride and progress of Malaybalay City, underscoring the shared responsibility of the University and the City Government in advancing education and innovation.
