Bukidnon State University (BukSU) awarded cash incentives totaling P175,000 to three topnotchers of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) during a recognition ceremony held on July 1, 2025 at the university mini theater.
BukSU recognized Ferdiliza Cadungog, who placed fifth in the March 2025 LET; Fercylee Jane V. Licayan, who ranked second in the June 2025 Special LET and participated remotely via Zoom; and Odessa Celeste Mae C. Casas, who placed fifth in the 2024 LET.
Cadungog and Casas each received P50,000, while Licayan received P75,000.
During the ceremony, the three topnotchers spoke about their experiences in preparing for the LET. Licayan and Casas described the challenges they encountered during their review and exam preparation. Cadungog, on the other hand, talked about the support she received from her family and the role of her faith throughout the process.
Now teaching at Bukidnon Faith Christian School in Valencia City, Cadungog said she plans to pursue a Master’s degree. She also expressed her intention to return to BukSU in the future as a faculty member.
“Believe in God. My most powerful weapon in this battle has been my prayers. There will be trials, but what matters is how you handle them. Don’t give up, and trust God’s plan,” said Cadungog.
The ceremony also served as a venue to acknowledge the contributions of the outgoing officers of the Parents-Teachers Association. In her message, Dr. Ann Sheila C. Del Rosario expressed appreciation for the PTA’s involvement in the university community.
In addition to honoring the topnotchers, BukSU also recognized its LET passers from the March 2024, September 2024, March 2025, and June 2025 Special LET batches. (Bret Malone Caesar S. Calipes, BukSU IU intern)
