
The Cebu Normal University (CNU) and Bukidnon State University (BukSU), have formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on May 22, 2025, at the CNU main campus outlining alliance for student exchange programs; faculty and research exchange; smart campus systems and operations; academic information and publication exchange; joint research programs; administrative and pedagogical practices; joint academic events; and, other academic collaboration.
President, Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso, Sr., CESO II represented Cebu Normal University. Representing Bukidnon State University was President Dr. Joy M. Mirasol. Along with President Mirasol were Executive Assistant to the University President Ms. Juliecriz B. Mallari, and Director for Student Leadership and Development Dr. Lorenzo B. Dinlayan III.
During the ceremonial MOA signing, BukSU President Mirasol delivered a message emphasizing the significance of this collaboration.
“It is a privilege to mark this occasion with Cebu Normal University—a fellow institution rooted in the tradition of Philippine Normal Schools,” stated Dr. Mirasol. “Today’s ceremonial signing signals the beginning of a partnership grounded in our shared mission to nurture minds and serve communities.”
Dr. Mirasol highlighted the purpose of the agreement, stating, “This Memorandum of Agreement reflects our intent to collaborate in areas that matter deeply to both our universities—research, academic exchange, innovation, and the improvement of higher education.” She also acknowledged the connection between the two institutions: “It also affirms the kinship between Bukidnon State University and CNU, shaped by a common history and a commitment to public service.”

The collaboration between CNU, an institution in Central Visayas, and BukSU, a university in Northern Mindanao, highlights a trend of inter-university partnerships aimed at enhancing education quality and fostering regional development.
