Ms. Bethel Lumilag-Waskovsky, a former Literature faculty at BukSU, relocated to the United States with her husband, John. They are members of an organization called, Life Development International, and will oversee the development of a new Master’s program in Community Development at the Newbridge Leadership Institute in Virginia.
During the visit, CAS Dean Dr. Maribel G. Valdez expressed hope that it would pave the way for mutually beneficial partnerships between Life Development International and CAS.
Dr. Valdez noted that BukSU’s Community Development program, which emphasizes empowering communities and promoting sustainable development, aligns closely with the work of Life Development International in cross-cultural leadership development.
The visit sought to combine expertise and resources through joint research or implement community development projects that have far-reaching positive effects.
“We are optimistic that this initial visit will pave the way for a fruitful partnership in the near future. The shared commitment to community development and the potential for knowledge and resource sharing make this a promising prospect for both organizations,” Dr. Valdez said. (Ma. Thesageen P.
