
Nine graduates of the BS Accountancy program at Bukidnon State University (BukSU) have passed the May 2024 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE).
Out of the 10,421 CPALE takers nationwide, 7,266 passed. BukSU achieved a passing rate of 45%, higher than the national average of 30.28%.

According to Padayao, his studies at BukSU faced numerous challenges, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he was able to overcome these difficulties thanks to the university’s continuous support and understanding of students’ situations. Padayao graduated with a degree in Accountancy in 2023, earning the distinction of Magna Cum Laude.
“It encourages me to be innovative in difficult times and be steadfast in pursuit of knowledge. The culture of being self-sufficient (but guided) lead me to be robust in facing challenges after graduation,” Padayao said.
When Padayao took the CPALE last May, he was well-prepared.
“Surprisingly, I was not nervous while taking the exam. I knew it would be difficult, but there was nothing I could do about that. I just worked through each question and solved it as best I could. I believe I experienced some divine intervention during the exam. For questions I didn’t know, I prayed, and once, I accidentally shaded an answer. I decided not to change it, and it turned out to be correct! I prayed before, during, and after each exam,” he added.
The success of these graduates highlights the resilience and dedication of BukSU’s students and the support provided by the university. “BukSU is brimming with pride with our accomplishment in the CPA Licensure Exam. This milestone underscores our unwavering commitment to quality education. Through a curriculum that emphasizes strong foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills, BukSU empowers its students to excel,” said Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, University President.
