WE have listed women in BukSU who have played significant roles on and off campus championing sustainability from creating innovative solutions to becoming resilient champion. These women are exceptional whose impact we feel every day in our campus life and whose work actively shapes our future.

DR. SARAH LOUISE S. ATULBA

Passionate advocate for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

With a background shaped by her experiences in South Korean universities, she has developed expertise in sustainable agriculture and environmental remediation. Dr. Atulba integrates sustainability principles into her teaching and research, emphasizing the importance of knowledge transfer to students and the local community. Also, she has introduced a budding project on innovative Green practices within the university while fostering student and faculty engagement.

MS. WILMA L. GREGORY

A visionary and decisive leader, the Chief Administrative Officer for Finance, has demonstrated dedication, innovation, and resourcefulness, significantly contributing to the institution’s fiscal strength and stability over her remarkable 37-year career.

Her remarkable achievements include a substantial increase of 1,367% for twenty-one (21) years in the university’s General Appropriations Act allotment from 2002 to 2023, showcasing her crucial role in enhancing fiscal strength.  The lasting positive impact of her initiatives is evident in the implementation of the Bottom-Up Budgeting Approach, fostering budget accuracy and accountability through active end-user participation. Notably adaptable, she supported innovative financial strategies, like Logix Systems, to improve procurement processes.

MS. ROSANNA S. GENERATO

Her journey exemplifies unwavering dedication to advancing the university, impacting its administrative efficiency, global recognition, environmental sustainability, and overall excellence

Ms. Generato has demonstrably impacted the university’s efficiency, global recognition, and commitment to sustainability. Under her leadership as Planning Officer, she played a pivotal role in implementing a quality management system that reflects the university’s adherence to international standards. Her dedication to excellence is further evidenced by BukSU’s achievement of the prestigious PRIME-HRM Level II Accreditation from the Civil Service Commission in 2020. Her influence extends beyond internal improvements, as she also spearheaded the university’s entry into esteemed international rankings such as the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, where BukSU secured the 1st place spot in Northern Mindanao and 534th place globally.

DR. JOY M. MIRASOL

A prominent figure in the field of environmental protection and climate change adaptation, with a rich background in championing these causes.

She has dedicated her career to collaborating with various local, national, and international agencies to develop and execute programs aimed at sustaining the environment. Her resilient vision revolves around safeguarding the planet for future generations through strategic partnerships and capacity-building initiatives, thus, recognized a Resilience Champion in 2023 by the Philippine National Resilience Council.

Being the current President of BukSU, one of her main agenda is to achieve a SMART BukSU pushing for the utilization of smart technologies to ensure operational efficiency and improve client experience capitalizing on digital solutions to complement efforts and to make BukSU the first Green University in Northern Mindanao– that is a university with environmental sustainability measures and infrastructure in place.
