20 student researchers bag awards in the 12th University-Wide Research Competition

MALAYBALAY CITY – Twenty (20) researchers bagged awards in the 12th University-Wide Student Research Competition held via Zoom on May 16, 2023.

The Research Unit thru Research Director, Dr. Lesley C. Lubos, spearheaded the said event. It has brought together talented students from all seven colleges of the university, both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The participants competed in three areas: the Pitching Competition, Undergraduate Paper Presentation, and Graduate Paper Presentation.

In the Pitching Competition, the researchers presented their innovative ideas as a testament to their ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. In the Undergraduate and Graduate Paper Presentation categories, participants displayed their profound research skills and academic prowess.

The participants who received awards were:

Pitching Research Competition

1st place: Katrina Eisabel Quinlog (College of Nursing)

2nd place: Kristian Rey N. Capao (College of Law)

3rd place: Meggy Frances L. Alava (College of Administration)

Undergraduate Category

1st place: Grazel Faye Q. Balintongog, Ardie Jane B. Cabonillas, James, Hayag (College of Technology)

2nd place: Ernie M. Actub, Karl Vicent E. Balbon, Chanique Lauren G. FLores, Melomel O. Nepomuceno (College of Technology)

3rd place: Bernavell Q. Gawahan, Jennifer P. Lasparilla, Michelle Jane G. Limbaga, Roland Dave Tamayo (College of Education)

Master’s Degree Category

1st place: Marjun M. Cuyag (College of Education)

2nd place: Jick Lloyed M. Melloria (College of Education)

3rd place: Woodrow Wilson B. Merida (College of Education)

Doctoral Degree Category

1st place: Joanna Ruth S. Paloma (College of Arts and Sciences) 2nd place: Riches L. Tortola (College of Education)
