BukSU Damulog celebrates ASEAN Month Celebration 2022

MALAYBALAY CITY- Bukidnon State University Damulog Campus celebrated ASEAN Month with the theme “Addressing Challenges Together through Culture and Arts” last August 31, 2022.

The Damulog Satellite Campus conducted a program and prepared series of activities in celebration for the ASEAN month celebration.

The program started with a multimedia invocation, the Philippine National Anthem and ASEAN Hymn.

Mr. Jess Mar D. Ramirez, a faculty, then emphasized in his opening remarks the importance of preserving culture amidst adversities and how it will lead the nations in ASEAN to be united.

After the opening remarks, the BPA fourth-year students performed an intermission number and sang the ASEAN Hymn.

One major activity that was conducted during the ASEAN month celebration is the Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2022.

Mr. Junard S. Sarong and Ms. Arlebe S. Mayacyac from BSBA 1 represented the country of Laos, Mr. Rito O. Rivera, and Ms. Reyalen Nobong from BSBA 4 represented the country of Brunei Darussalam, Mr. Brayan B. Busquit and Ms. Gretchen N. Juliada from BPA 1 represented the country of Vietnam, and Mr. Bryan Capangpangan and Ms. Princess Mae Ricare from BPA 4 represented the country of the Philippines.

The winners of the People’s Choice Award are the representatives from BSBA 1, and the Couple of the Day award goes to the representatives of BSBA 4. The Best in Costume and Best in Talent awards go to the representatives of BSBA 4.

The winners for Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2022 are the following:

Mr. and Ms. ASEAN 2022 – Mr. Rito O. Rivera and Ms. Reyalen A. Nobong (BSBA 4)

1st runner up – Bryan A. Capangpangan (BPA 4) and Gretchen N. Juliada (BPA 1)

2nd runner up – Mr. Junard S. Sarong (BSBA 1) and Ms. Princess Mae E. Ricare (BPA 4)

3rd runner up – Mr. Brayan B. Busquit (BPA 1) and Ms. Arlene S. Mayacyac (BSBA 1)

The judges for this contest are BFP, FO2 Japeth G. Jaguno, SFO1 Joel Lozano, and a faculty member, Ms. Cherry Mae B. Icat.

Other activities were also prepared for the participants, such as poster making, slogan making, and picture collage.

Poster Making Contest:

1st place – Mr. James Levi Sacopayo and Mr. Jhon Glenn Juntilla (BSBA 4)

2nd place – Mr. Jhey T. Lipatuan (BPA 4)

3rd place – Ms. Roseri Juring (BSBA 1)

4th place – Mr. Arjan Endona and Mr. Elgie Pagapulaan (BPA 1)

Slogan Contest:

1st place – Mr. Jhey L. Lipatuan (BPA 4)

2nd place – Ms. Jayzel Duran (BSBA 4)

3rd place – Ms. Marichu Lacia (BSBA 1)

4th place – Mr. Gerardo Carvajal (BPA

Picture Collage Contest:

1st place – Ms. Maxine Rivera, Ms. Glejane Capin, Ms. Jaynessa Alambatin and Ms. Christine Tinos (BSBA 1)

2nd place – Mr. Arjan Enduna and Mr. Elgie Pagapulaan (BPA 1)

              – Ms. Klarissa Villarin and Ms. Jessa Mae Taladtad (BPA 4)

3rd place – Ms. Judilyn Toombs (BSBA 4)

Certificates were awarded to the board of judges and the winners of the contests. Ms. Joelyn Cabalan, Sports and Socio-Cultural Coordinator, gave her closing remarks by expressing her gratitude to all those behind the organization of the program, as well as to the visitors and all students who participated.
