[ADVISORY] BukSU to employ ‘Hyflex’ or mix of face-to-face, flexible learning system by August 2022

MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS) Bukidnon State University will be using a Hybrid Flexible (Hyflex) Learning System for all levels starting August 2022 for Academic Year 2022-2023, as approved by the university’s Board of Regents (BOR) on June 10, 2022.

Hyflex is a convergence of the original flexible learning or the remote offline and online options and face-to-face or onsite learning.

The approved Modified Class Schedule offers two possible options for all academic programs, except for the Juris Doctor program of the College of Law, which allots more hours in flexible learning. The rest of the programs in BukSU’s six other colleges will have students/learners allot half of their semester (27 hours) onsite and half (27 hours) on flexible or remote offline modes.

The options from which most academic programs have chosen, based on the BOR approved modified schedule; differ only in the schedule of their students’ entry in the campus for face-to-face classes.

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) has announced that the schedule of enrollment is from July 18 to 29, 2022. The OVPAA has earlier announced that though all students will have schedule for face-to-face sessions, there will be no common time for their entry in the campus. The students’ respective academic programs will determine the schedule of their face-to-face classes.

In due time, the OVPAA will release more guidelines for the details of BukSU’s implementation of the hyflex learning system. (OP-Information and Publication Services)
