BukSU shares best practices to DENR 10 on quality management process

MALAYBALAY CITY (OP-IPS/22 December 2021) – Bukidnon State University facilitated a sharing of best practices in document control processes in a benchmarking engagement requested by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-10. 

Document control processes is one of the components of the university’s Quality Management System. BukSU Quality Management System satisfies the full range of requirements specified by ISO 9001 Standard.

“To assist us in the said orientation, we would like to respectfully request your University Quality Management Representative (UQMR) and Document Controllers (DCs) to share with us your present practices for our guidance and preference,” Arleigh J. Adorable, Region X Executive Director stated in the letter addressed to Dr. Oscar B. Cabañelez through Mr. Dante S. Victoria Jr.

Four officials and personnel from BukSU served as resource persons in various topics on document control, which is one of the dimensions of quality management systems.

Mr. Dante S. Victoria Jr., Vice President for Administration, Planning, and Development, Ms. Ann Sheila Del Rosario, former University Document Controller, Domingo Ramirez III, Records Officer/UDC, and Ms. Charmen Dyan Acodile, OVPAPD Document Controller, attended the virtual meeting scheduled by the DENR on December 9, 2021.

Mr. Victoria Jr. talked about the journey of BukSU towards ISO certification, in response to the request of the DENR regarding their intention for ISO certification.

Ms. Del Rosario talked about BukSU’s documents and records control procedure.

Mr. Ramirez III discussed the university’s centralized document control procedure and practices and how it started to comply with the National Archive of the Philippines (NAP).

Ms. Acodile described the actual practices of a unit document controller.

The benchmarking activity was for the DENR-10’s pursuit of quality standards. It was also meant to provide orientation of the presently designated document controllers in all DENR units on their respective roles and responsibilities.

A total of 90 participants from DENR attended the virtual benchmarking activity. Five of the participants came from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENRO), 20 from City Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENRO), and personnel from the eight divisions of the Regional Office.
