MALAYBALAY CITY (IPS/27 February 2020) The Bukidnon Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) honored six of Bukidnon State University’s education graduates who topped the September 2019 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

The SP members handed copies of the separate resolutions they passed on January 28, 2020 congratulating each of the top passer. The ceremony was held during the 29th Regular Session of the 26th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Province of Bukidnon held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the SP Session Hall.

BukSU’s September 2019 LET top passers for elementary level were: Ms. Charlotte S. Matela and Ms. Geraldine R. Meca (both ranked 5th with a rating of 90.80%), Ms. Shiela Joy G. Bolaño, (8th with 90.20% rating) and Ms.  Haidee Pinky D. Minguito (10th with 90% rating).

In the secondary level, the top passers were: Ms. Laurabelle R. Meca (6th with a rating of 91.40%) and Ms. Anafhel C. Gamalo, (10th with 90.60% rating).

Based on the excerpts from the Minutes of the 29th Regular Session, the Bukidnon SP recognized the achievements of BukSU graduates. The resolution stated the school of origin of the top passers in elementary and high school and identified their parents. Copies of the resolution were forwarded also to the top passers’ schools in elementary and secondary and to DepEd Bukidnon for reference.

Board member. Nemisio B. Beltran, Jr. (2nd Legislative District) sponsored the resolution.

BukSU President Dr. Oscar B. Cabańelez, who led the university officials in accompanying the top passers, thanked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for their continued support and for the recognition.

Ms. Bolaño shared to OP-IPS her journey towards becoming a LET top passer. She believed this unique accomplishment can be achieved through hard work, dedication, patience and prayers to God.

“I’m so honored and thankful by the acknowledgement of the Province, we really did not expect it (…). Passing the LET Exam is already a big thing to be thankful of, “she added.

After graduating from BukSU on April 7, 2019, Ms. Bolaño took a review in a private review center in Davao City. She said she was inspired by her mother, Mrs. Concepcion G. Bolaño who worked in the University’s canteen.

“I am so glad to bring this victory not only to my family, but also to my alma matter,” she added.

She said she is not really a very studious person but during her review, she gave her best.

“I focused and listened to our lecturers. I read relevant books and review materials every night. I answered a lot of sample questions,” she added.
