MALAYBALAY CITY – Bukidnon State University won awards during the Regional Extension Congress of the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors, Incorporated (PAEPI), Region X on November 7 to 9, 2018.
The congress, hosted by BukSU, carried the theme “Extension: Conduit among Stakeholders’ Response and Solutions to Environment, Peace and Gender Issues”.
A total of 160 participants attended the congress, mostly from private higher education institutions, state universities and colleges (SUCs), local government units and non-government organizations in Northern Mindanao.
The Institute of Environmental Governance team, led by Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, composed of Joan M. Recente, Ana Nimfa B. Caballero, Nova Thirdy E. Agravante , Angelica May S. Fortin, Marlon S. Frias, Retchie P. Colegado, Jose Benito C. Ronolo, Christian J. Inovejas, Chaseur Leo Vann O. Ontolon won the Best Paper and Best Presentation with their research “Strengthening Management of Mindanao Protected Areas Towards Bio-Cultural Diversity Conservation And Sustainable Development.”
Jesse Ve Marie C. Tantoy, Kathryn Faith E. Amarille, Annie Leah Roxann L. Emata also from BukSu received the best presentation with their Abstract “PWD Makatrabaho, PWD Makanegosyo.”
Dr. Adelda A. Cunanan and Dr. Beulah Rose R. Torres also received the Best Presentation award with their research paper, “The Impact Of University- Based Wellness Project On Its Facilitators”.
Lynnette A. Ejem, Desiree Christine C. Arbutante, Marie Angeli C. Abendaño also received the Best Presentation award for their “Organic Urban Gardening As An Approach To Climate Resiliency And Food Security: The Natural Science Department And Natid-Asan Community Experience” paper.
Dr. Demetria May T. Saniel, Rosita K. Quibra, Donna G. Tilanduca, Boots Mikee D. Exclamado from the College of Business won the Best Paper, “Service Learning In The Academe Through Community Engagement”. (By Adelda Cunanan, Ph.D./Extension Unit for the OP-Information and Publication Service)
