Description of the Department:
The Bachelor of Elementary Education is a four-year degree program that aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for elementary education. The curriculum is designed to equip graduates with knowledge on foundational general education, methodological skills for teaching and learning, communication skills, higher order thinking, innovative and ethical teacher-leadership, and professional values. The program culminates with experiential teaching internship in various cooperating schools, both in public and private, local and international partnerships.
In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994,” in pursuance of an outcomes-based quality assurance system as advocated under CMO No. 46 s. 2012, and by virtue of Commission en banc (CEB) Resolution No. 724-2017 dated October 3, 2017, the College of Education adheres to policies, standards and guidelines as provided for in CMO No. 74, series of 2017 (Bachelor of Elementary Education) for the general education and legislated course requirements and professional education courses. The curriculum outline includes 176 units in the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program.

Highlights of Best Practices of the Bachelor of Elementary Education Program
1. BEEd has a well-established Parent-Teacher Association which promotes maximum participation of the parents in the program’s academic pursuits. 2. BEEd continues to send Pre-service Teachers to novel internship experience as it strengthens participation to the inter-country student mobility through the Student International Abroad Program (SIAP). 3. Guidance and Counselling services are delivered to reach out to the BEEd students. Online Counseling and remote student consultations are being done by the guidance designates, promoting students’ well-being and address socio emotional, mental and academic concerns. |

Instruction
1. BEEd has been producing Topnotchers in the Licensure Examination for Teacher (LET) for the past three years. 2. The program has continued and strengthened Inter-country student mobility. 3. The faculty members are sent to trainings, workshops and capability-building initiatives relative to instruction. 4. The program is implementing flexible learning modality in response to COVID-19 pandemic. 5. The program conducted syllabus recalibration to include the Most Essential Learning Competencies in conformance to the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST). |

Extension
BEEd has forged partnership with the Department of Education. An Extension Project dubbed Enhancing DepEd Teachers’ Action Research Capability on Multi-grade Instruction in the K-12 Classroom is currently in its implementation stage, Phase One in which the development of Modules is in progress. This stage has commenced right after the Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Bukidnon State University and Department of Education Malaybalay Division. |

Production
1. The BEEd faculty has produced among others Instructional Materials which include Course Learning Modules, course files, learning packettes, activity sheets and compilations of reading materials for remote learning. 2. Extension Modules are produced to aid the conduct of extension projects. |
