The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (BA Sociology) is a four-year course that involves students in understanding deeply socio-cultural, economic, political and virtual communities in a ‘glocalized’ perspective. It also allows students to evaluate structures of groups, organizations and societies by applying research, theories and knowledge about social relations.

Program objectives
BACHELOR OF ARTS IN SOCIOLOGY
1.1 The BA Sociology program shall facilitate the production of new and innovative sociological analytic approaches to emerging sociological phenomena and issues such as but not limited to concept of peace and development, segregation, gender and development.
1.2. The BA Sociology program shall establish socio-cultural laboratories that will enhance students’ knowledge and skills in research (simulation/modeling).
2.1 The BA Sociology program shall immerse the students to the various socio-cultural realities that will encourage their analytical examination of the situation.
2.2. The BA Sociology program shall train students to evaluate information using various decision-making theories.
3.1 The BA Sociology program shall engage the students in the active organization in the implementation of solutions to sociological problems.
3.2. The BA Sociology program shall provide activities that promote the development of intellectual, emotional physical and spiritual growth of students.
4.1 The BA Sociology program shall institute mechanisms for sociology students to be active participants in the initiatives for social, cultural and environmental preservation and sustainable development.
