The College of Law was approved per BOR Resolution no. 899, S.2002 during the 112th Regular Board of Trustees Meeting held at Bukidnon State College. From the time it opened its doors, the college has offered the regular program for Bachelor of Laws.
Since its inception, the school has had three deans who contributed to its robust curriculum. The pioneering dean was the esteemed judge, Hon.Vivencio P. Estrada. He graduated from University of San Carlos in 1960 and attained distinction as a lawyer, particularly in criminal cases. He was later appointed as judge in the 10th Judicial Region Branch 8 for the designation of special court for kidnapping, robbery carnapping, dangerous drugs and other heinous crimes. He served as the Dean of BukSU College of Law for almost 14 years.
Atty. Gerardo J. Murillo became his successor on April 14, 2016. He held the position until October 2018. Dean Murillo graduated from Xavier University in 1997 and was one of the pioneering faculty members since the law school opened. He is now the Faculty Associate of the College.
Today, Atty. Sherrymae O. Velos-Decang is the current College of Law Dean and she came into office on Nov 5, 2018. Atty. Velos-Decang graduated with a diploma in Bachelor of Laws at San Carlos University, Cebu City and obtained her Masters of Law degree at San Beda University in Mendiola, Manila in 2018. A strong educator since 2012, she has taught aspiring lawyers the values and ethics needed to achieve excellence in the field of justice.
