BukSU to hold virtual 86th Commencement Exercises on August 31

de veraMALAYBALAY CITY (27 August 2020) The Bukidnon State University administration has scheduled the conduct of its virtual 86th Commencement Exercises on August 31, 2020 with the theme “Traversing the New Normal in Higher Education through Innovative Teaching and Learning”.

The BukSU Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs said Commission on Higher Education chairperson Prospero “Popoy” E. de Vera will be this year’s commencement speaker.

The graduation rites were recorded earlier and will be set for webcast at the BukSU official website, www.buksu.edu.ph and the university’s official Facebook account BUKSU Bukidnon State University around 8a.m. The rites will also be aired via the university’s DXBU 104.5 FM.

The university opted to have the virtual graduation in compliance to the directives from the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) and the advisories from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

CHED Chair de Vera is also the Adviser of the Philippine Negotiating Panel with the National Democratic Front/Communist Party of the Philippines/New People’s Army (NDF/CPP/NPA), and Commissioner of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

BukSU also webcasted the graduation rites of the lower levels. The 62nd Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony was shown on July 18, 2020. The 86th Graduation Ceremony of the Elementary Laboratory School was shown on June 13, 2020. The 5th Junior High School Completion Ceremony and 3rd Senior High School Graduation Rites were shown on June 20, 2020, in the morning and in the afternoon, respectively.

There are a total of 1,197 graduates of BukSU this year from 20 undergraduate degree programs and the master’s and doctorate programs.

The College of Arts and Sciences has 204, College of Business, 478; College of Education, 237; College of Nursing, 17; College of Social Development and Technology,234; and College of Law, 27 graduates. (Office of the President-Information and Publication Service).
