CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (IPS) Bukidnon State University has enhanced its graduate and legal education programs through a three-day review and enhancement workshop on January 15-17, 2020 at N’ Hotel, Kauswagan Highway, Cagayan de Oro City.

As a result of the workshop, BukSU academic officials and faculty revised the operations manuals, program outcomes, curriculum maps, prospectus and course syllabuses of the graduate education program of CAS, COE, COB and CPA. The College of Law also enhanced its curriculum based on the Legal Education Board (LEB) requirements.

Ms. Katherine B. Akut, Faculty Associate to the Vice President for Academic Affairs said that the proposed revisions are presently in the process of consolidation and finalization.

The Commission on Higher Education required state universities and colleges to conduct a continual review of the Graduate and Legal Education curricula. This is to ensure that policies, processes and practices are aligned with the reforms in the education system and relevant to the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Education.

The VPAA, deans, Graduate and Legal Education Program Coordinators and Faculty, OVPAA’s Faculty Associate and Colleges Secretaries attended the review and enhancement sessions.

During the workshop, the participants used the CHED Handbook on OBE, Graduate Education policies, standards and guidelines (PSGs), old copy of Graduate Education (GE) and Legal Education Manual of Operations, Curriculum Maps for GE and LE, Prospectus of GE and LE Programs and OBE Syllabus Templates as references.

The outputs of the workshop were the revised operations manuals incorporating new policies, standards and guidelines set by CHED, LEB, BukSU, AACCUP, ISO 9001;2015, and other regulatory bodies. The participants were also required to reformulate the program outcomes and curriculum maps of graduate and legal education programs to align with CHED and LEB’s policies, standards and guidelines, BukSU’s typology, vision, mission and goals. The participants also reviewed, enhanced and revised the curricular content ensuring the relevance of the course offerings. (Ms. Shairrah Ann R.
