MALAYBALAY CITY (April 25) A total of 1, 274 students from Bukidnon State University’s 18 external and extension studies centers have been confirmed graduates from their respective academic programs in a series of commencement exercises in April, according to a report from the Office of the External and Extension Studies Center coordinator.
Most of the graduates, 867 or 68.1 percent, graduated from different academic programs in 11 external studies centers or those located outside of Bukidnon. There were also graduates from the last batch of students of the Trento External Studies Center, which has been consolidated into the Agusan del Sur College of Agriculture and Technology (ASCAT).
The external studies center graduates belonged to two programs in Manticao, seven program in Alubijid, three programs in Libertad, five programs in Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (MOGCHS), five programs in Gingoog City, three in Medina, two in Magsaysay, three in Talisayan, two in Kinoguitan, three in Sugbongcogon and four in Salay; all in Misamis Oriental.
There were seven programs from the Trento (Agusan del Sur) Studies Center.
About 407 graduates or 31.9 percent came from the six extension studies centers or those within the province of Bukidnon.
The graduates came from one program in Baungon, three programs in Talakag, three programs in Kalilangan, four programs in Kadingilan, three programs in Libona and two programs in Malitbog.
Most of the guest speakers in separate graduation rites were alumni of the local centers, including some local officials and personalities.
A total of 10 students graduated cum laude (with honors), including three each from the Trento and Talisayan centers.
The graduation rites in the external and extension centers were held from April 12 to 19, 2018 and used the main campus’ theme: “Pursuing Excellence through Innovative Leadership in Education.” The graduation rites in the main campus were held on April 4 in Malaybalay City, where there were 2,165 graduates.
